Jane Bonsall of Dubois, PA, died on September 26, 2016 at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Rock Hall, Maryland. She was 90. She was born on June 8,1926 in Rockton, PA to the late Claire and Carie Shaffer. A graduate of DuBois, High School, she married Ed Bonsall, they made their home in Clearfield, PA. Mrs. Bonsall worked for General Adjustment Bureau in the Insurance Industry, as an administrative assistant for 17 years until she retired to raise her family. She was active with area churches and settled with Curvinsville Alliance Church in Curvinsville, PA where she and her husband attended. She enjoyed her church family, her many friends, and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed, in 1999 and her father Claire in 2000. She moved to Rock Hall, MD to be closer to her family three years ago. She is survived by two children: Robert Edward Bonsall and his wife Michelle and son Ryan of Monroe, GA and Tracey Ann Pochron and her husband Jim and son Chase of Church Hill, MD. She is also survived by a brother: James Shaffer of California A memorial service will be held on November 12, 2016 at 11:00 at Curvinsville Alliance Church in Curvinsville, PA. Interment will be in Crowncrest cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 1850 York Road Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093. Ruby Zell Bryant

Ruby Zell Bryant passed away on September 25, 2016 at Envoy of Denton in Denton, MD. She was 93. Born on December 27, 1922 in Buchanan, Virginia, to the late John and Dovie Smith Manspile. She grew up, one of eleven children, on a farm in Buchanan, VA and graduated from Buchanan High School. She moved to Newport News, VA to work at the Ship Yard Commissary Store. She then met and married Robert Bryant and they continued to live in Newport News until moving to Brooklyn Park, MD and later to Texas in 1978. Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and an Avon Sales Consultant. She and her husband later owned and operated the South Lake Wood Bait & Grocery in Texas, a bait and tackle shop, grocery store and gas station. Mr. Bryant predeceased her in 1998. She moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2000, living in Centreville to be with her family. Mrs. Bryant became a member of the Methodist Church while living in Texas. Mrs. Bryant is survived by two daughters, Diane Kroneberger, and husband Larry, of Centreville, MD, and Lois “Bunny” Davidson, and husband Jim, of Stevensville, MD; 6 grandchildren, Jodi, Jessie, Diana, Jimmy, Bobby and Kellie Jo; and 14 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11am in St. Paul Cemetery in Ozan, Arkansas.

Betty Jane Elburn Crouch of Rock Hall, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. She was 85. She was born in Rock Hall, MD the daughter of the late George Franklin Elburn and Catherine Coleman Bullen. She attended schools in Rock Hall and in 1951 she married Walter A Crouch. Due to his career with the U.S. Navy they resided in several locations throughout the country until his retirement when they moved back to Rock Hall in 1967. Mrs. Crouch worked for a short time with Rock Hall Manufacturing (the Shirt Factory). She was a member of Rock Hall United Methodist Church and enjoyed bowling in her earlier years. Her husband predeceased her on December 5, 2010. She is survived by her children: Graham F. Crouch and his wife Susan of Easton, MD and Charles A. Crouch and his wife Lee of Rock Hall, MD, her grandchildren: Betsy Jane Lloyd and Lana Lee Brand, along with her great grandchildren: Angel Lee Brand, Layla Brand, Ally Lloyd, Brian Lloyd, Andi-Beth Lloyd, and Aryn Lloyd. Funeral services will be held at Rock Hall United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 12:00 noon, where relatives and friends may call from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Interment will be held in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company P.O. Box 577 Rock Hall, Maryland 21661.

Michael Joseph Simons, Jr., of Chester, Maryland died September 28, 2016 at his home. He was 76. Born May 8, 1940 in Allentown, PA., he was the son of the late Michael J., Sr. and Marie Prutzanni Simons. Raised, in Bethlehem, PA., Michael was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School. After Graduation, Michael enlisted in the Air Force. After four years of service in the Air Force, he was employed by NSA in Washington, DC until his retirement. After retirement, he moved to Chester, MD and enjoyed the Chesapeake Bay, fishing and crabbing with his friends. Michael was a member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Chester, MD. Michael is survived by his sister, Marie Louise Warrick of Norristown, PA., and two nephews, John Michael Warrick of Richmond, VA., and Michael David Warrick of Perkasie, PA. Thomas Brian Mozingo of Centreville, died Saturday October 1, 2016 at Christiana Hospital due to an automobile accident. He was 20 years old. Born on June 22, 1996, in Annapolis, MD., he was the son of Thomas R. Mozingo and Lisa Clow Mozingo of Centreville. Tommy graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School in 2014, where he studied auto mechanics. Tommy loved cars; he was constantly working on his own car trying to make it louder, lower, etc. Eventually Tommy moved from this trade to work for his father as a steamfitter, doing HV/AC and refrigeration. He excelled in this job, as he did in anything he put his mind to. Tommy lived for his family and friends. No matter how early he had to get up the next morning, he would drive to the Food Lion parking lot in Centreville to relax with his friends. Tommy lived his short life to the fullest, always brave and strong, never doubting himself. His strong-willed personality and big heart will be forever missed. In addition to his parents, Tommy is survived by his older sister Shelly Mozingo Armiger, twin brother Raymond Mozingo, and brother-in-law Matthew Armiger; maternal grandparents Louis and Marguerite “Retsy” Clow of Rhodesdale, MD; and great aunt Margaret Bennett of Bowie, MD. Visitations will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newman Funeral Home, P.A. in Centreville, MD, where a service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11am. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for contributions to be made in Tommy’s name to the Queen Anne’s County Fire Department of your choice, for their help in trying to prevent this tragedy; Centreville Fire Department, Church Hill Fire Company, or Queenstown Fire Company.

Mollie Joyce Engle of Centreville, Maryland passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at her home in Centreville surrounded by her four children. She was 81. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on August 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Edward “Bud” McNamara and Adeline Gertrude Trevethan McNamara. She Graduated from Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre, PA, class of 1953. Mollie married the late Marty Engle (of Wyoming, PA) on May 31, 1958. Mollie later obtained her pre-school teaching certification in Rockville, MD and taught at Four Corners Nursery School. Over a period of 33 years, Mollie and Marty resided in Silver Spring, MD where they raised their family of four children. Mollie and her husband Marty moved to Centreville in 1993 upon Marty’s retirement from the Federal Government. Mollie is survived by her children, Connie Dean (Frank, Jr.), Christopher Engle (Julie) of Hagerstown, MD, Kevin Engle (Myriam) of Tampa, FL, and Kenneth Engle (Lisa) of Brookeville, MD; seven grandchildren, Sean Engle (Jess), Brendan Engle, Brooke Dean, Emily Engle, Kyle Dean, Hannah Engle and Kasandra Engle; step grandchildren and their families, Ashley Baynard, Kendall Towers and Tyler Dean; and great grandchildren, Camden and Averie Engle. Mollie was an active member of Our Mother of Sorrows/St Peters Catholic Church and an extraordinary minister of communion. Mollie was a woman of strong faith and enjoyed her trips to the beach, family gatherings, painting, reading, music, movies, and ceramics. Mollie was dedicated to her parents, was devoted to her late husband and family, and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted and caring friend. Mollie will be truly missed. A visitation will be on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6-8pm at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home. P.A. in Centreville. A Mass will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11am at Our Mother of Sorrows in Centreville. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery in Queenstown. Lois Benjamin

Lois Benjamin, 67, of Frederick, MD died on October 24, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Lois was born on March 16, 1949 in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Morris Benjamin and Bertha Starkoff Benjamin. At five months old she developed polio. This disease was the catalyst for her highly motivated life and her devotion to assisting others. She attended Hofstra University and graduated with her undergraduate degree in 1970. She then obtained her Master’s degree from Hofstra in 1972. She then pursued a career as a Regional Coordinator for the New York State Education Department for 31 years when she retired in 2004. Lois’ experience with polio fueled her desire in assisting others with disabilities. Thus, she began her career as a Rehabilitation Counselor in Queens, NY assisting adults with disabilities to gain employment. She retired as a Regional Coordinator overseeing the Long Island Region and Managing the Nassau County office. During her retired years she served as the President and Secretary of her Home Owner’s Association in Worman’s Mills Conservancy. Ms. Benjamin is survived by her devoted spouse, Edwin Sullivan of Frederick, MD, and his daughters Amy Sullivan-Hicks of Charlotte, NC and Jill Sullivan Weaver of Raleigh, NC; her brother and sister in law Melvin and Carol Benjamin of Bowie, MD; her beloved nieces and nephews, Lisa and Bill Szarka of Matticuk, NY; David Benjamin of Arnold, MD; Melissa and Jay Dabas of Winchester, VA; Sarah and Jonathan Seibold of Crofton, MD; Wendy Diehl and Roberta Stambaugh of New Market, MD; and great nieces and nephews, Dexter, Anna, Brenton, Avi, Willow, Gavin, and Sajan. She is preceded in death by her brother Bernard Benjamin. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 11 AM at Trappe United Methodist Church on Main St. in Trappe, MD. Burial will follow at Oxford Cemetery.

Nancy Hepbron Schreiber Stanton, Chesapeake City, MD, passed away on October 23, 2016 at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Chestertown, MD. She was 100 years old. Born on December 11, 1915 in Still Pond, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Jackson and Grace Ringgold Price Hepbron. She graduated from Chestertown High School, class of 1933 and later attended Cecil Community College. She married Alexander Tutton Schreiber, who predeceased her in 1971 and later remarried in 1976 to Russell Crom Stanton, who predeceased in 2004. Mrs. Stanton is survived by her daughter, Mary Catharine Cooling of Chesapeake City, MD; a granddaughter, Mary Heather Miller of Cecilton, MD; and a great grandson, Colton William Miller. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Alice Coleman, of Australia. In addition to her first and second husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Catharine Hepbron Harris in in January of 2016 and her brother, William Jackson Hepbron, Jr. Mrs. Stanton was a member of Christ I.U. Church in Worton, MD. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at Christ I.U. Cemetery in Worton.
