EASTON – Remington Colt Quicke, born October 9, 2016, passed away November 6th, 2016. God’s little Soldier has returned to Heaven. Keith Edward Dreisbach III
Keith E. Dreisbach, III, of Chestertown, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Nemours A.I. Dupont Children’s Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. He was 15. Born on April 26, 2001 in Chestertown, MD, he was the son of Keith E. Dreisbach, Jr. and Jennifer Dobbins Dreisbach of Chestertown. Keith was a student in the 9th grade at Kent County High School and was being taught at home by JoAnne Kelly. He enjoyed Ravens football and playing video games. Keith loved the Christmas season and the music that is played during the holidays. He also loved spending time with his family and loved ones. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Katelyn Dreisbach of Chestertown, and his paternal grandparents, Keith, Sr. and Mary Ellen Dreisbach of Rock Hall. His is also survived by his large extended family. Keith was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ed and Debbie Dobbins; great grandparents, Horace and Lucile Stokes and Buck and Betty Harrison, along with his aunt, Linda Stokes and his godmother, Allison Linz. Services will be on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Chestertown, where relatives and friends may call two hours prior (11a -1pm). Interment will be held privately in St. Paul’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home to defray funeral costs.
Mr. Howard “Donnie” Luff
Howard Donald Luff, known as “Donnie”, was born on February 14, 1957, died on November 8, 2016, a resident of Denton, MD. He is survived by his mother, Virginia “Ginger” Scott; three brothers, Bernard “Bernie” Luff, Jack D. Luff, and William “Bill” Luff; special Aunt and Uncle, Shirley and Jim Leigg; and many friends and relatives in Denton and Elkton, MD and in Delaware, where he resided on weekends, with his mother. Donnie was predeceased by his grandmother, Virginia Wilton and grandfather, Jack Wilton with whom he lived for many years in Elkton, MD; his father Howard Luff and grandmother Elsie Luff. Paula S. Mercer of Severn, Md. died at her home on Thursday November 10, 2016. She was 46. Paula was born in Wilmington, De. and after graduation from high school attended college for a period of time. Paula loved spending time with her son and enjoyed reading. In addition to her son, Brandon Cummings of Severn, MD. she is survived by her mother Sharon Hasty also of Severn, Md. and her step-father, Ed Fountain of Greensboro, Md. Step-Brother, Ben Fountain of Tremont, PA. and Step-sister, Julie Fountain of Salisbury, MD. Uncle’s Richard Hasty of Bear, DE. and Greg Hasty of New Castle, DE. also survive her. Many cousins and her dear friends Mike and Tina survive her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 15, 2016 at 1 pm in the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Rd. Chestertown, Md. where friends and family may call after 12 noon. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, MD.

Margaret Elizabeth Cutter
Margaret E. Cutter of Chester passed away on November 13, 2016 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She was 77. Born on April 10, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Casimir and Edna (Berg) Frost, she grew up in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, NY. She retired from Verizon after 31years of service. Margaret is survived by her four children daughter Edna Cutter Stachurski (Richard) of Middletown, NY; Son James Cutter (Anne Marie) of Stevensville, MD; daughter Marianne Schmidt of Lutherville, MD; son John Cutter (Margaret) of Newark, DE; 16 grandchildren; 4great grandchildren; brother James Frost of Monroe, NY; sister Edna Frost SSND of Willard, WI; sister Barbara O’Donnell of Brooklyn, NY; sister Casimira Garrett of Red Bank, NJ; sister in law Ann Frost of Annapolis, MD; and sister in law Elaine Wesmacott of Baldwin, NY. In addition to her husband James Patrick Cutter, she was also predeceased by her brother Kenneth Frost. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016at 11am at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD, where friends and family may visit from 9-11 am. Mrs. Mildred Louise Schuyler
Mildred Louise Schuyler of Centreville, MD, died on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Autumn Lake Health Care in Chestertown. She was 84. Born on September 25, 1932 in Slaughter Beach, DE, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Butler and Mildred Grace Smith. She attended schools in Queen Anne’s and Caroline Counties. She married in 1952 to Marion Joseph Schuyler, Sr., They lived in Hope, MD, where she operated their livestock farm, while she raised her family. Mrs. Schuyler also ran a goose picking business. She loved her grandchildren, cooking for guests, her Chihuahuas, coffee, and her animals. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. She is survived by her daughters; Charlotte Ann Patchett of Price, MD, Brenda Lee Crouse of Sudlersville, MD and Ella Louise Kerr of Chestertown, MD, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Marion Joseph Schuyler, Jr. and her brother, Leonard Layton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, MD, where relatives and friends may call one hour prior (11-12). Mrs. Betty Flournoy Dennis
Easton: Mrs. Betty Flournoy Dennis of Easton, MD, died on November 19, 2016 at Talbot Hospice House. She was 92. Mrs. Dennis was born in Carthage, TX on August 10, 1924 to the late Eloise Walker and Raymond Grady Thomas. In 1947, Betty married J.M. Dennis in Carthage, TX. Mrs. Dennis is survived by her sons, Mark Dennis of Mardela Springs, MD, John Dennis of Forest Hill, MD, and Jim Dennis of Kennesaw, GA; six grandchildren, Scott Hardilek, Laura Allison, Julia Walker, Rachel Dennis, Kathryn Dennis and Ryan Dennis. She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Betty Jane Dennis. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Samuel Vernon Phillip Whitby
Samuel Vernon Phillip Whitby of Grasonville, MD died Wednesday November 23, 2016 at the Compass Regional Hospice Center in Centreville, MD. He was 88. Born on November 14, 1928 in Easton, MD the son of the late Samuel Whitby and Lillian Porter. He grew up on Wye Island and attended school there until it closed requiring a move to Queenstown. After graduating from Centreville High School in 1945, he started work as a waterman and worked part time as a carpenter. He enlisted in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany and then in California. While in California, he married Betty Jane Stevens on January 29, 1952. After he was honorably discharged, Phil returned to Grasonville and resumed work as a waterman. Phil built a home in Grasonville in the late 50’s where he and Betty raised a family and where they resided for the rest of their lives. After several years as a waterman, Phil felt he needed a bigger and newer boat so he built Ja-Da. He improved upon Ja-Da when he built another larger boat, Scorpio. Never one to sit idle, he decided to try woodworking and carving, as a hobby. He started with replica boats and then branched out into waterfowl projects. He made a variety of waterfowl pieces including ducks, geese, blue herons, and swans. December was often a very busy month, as he worked hard to finish gifts for family and friends in time for Christmas. In addition to woodworking projects, he also became intrigued with magic tricks. He started with a couple of tricks and after becoming proficient, he added several more and would use family gatherings to hone his skills in front of a friendly audience. It wasn’t long before he started performing as “Phil the Great” for local groups, children’s parties, family gatherings, church groups, and retirement communities. After retiring from full -time work as a waterman he gained employment with Queenstown Bank doing facilities maintenance, for several locations. He worked in this capacity for several years before retiring about 10 years ago. Phil also enjoyed gardening, singing and playing the guitar and dobro. His tomato garden grew to include 40 plants which produced scores of baskets for the church, friends, and family He was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Grasonville and a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by; two children, Jamie Lee Whitby (Lynette Foster) of Queen Anne and Janet Whitby Wright (Gary Robert) of Easton; a daughter in-law, Debbie Thompson Whitby of Queenstown; eight grandchildren, Allyson, Brian, Courtney, Phillip, David, Tyler, Kelly and Karen and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son David Whitby (2009) and his wife of 60 years Betty Jane Whitby (2012). A visitation will be held on Monday November 28, 2016 from 6PM to 8PM at the Fellows Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home in Chester, MD. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2016 at 11AM at the Immanuel United Methodist Church in Grasonville, MD and interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton, MD. Mr. Christopher W. Figiel
Christopher W. Figiel of Millington, Md. died in his home on Wednesday November 23, 2016. He was 58. Mr. Figiel was born in Baltimore, Md. the son of the late Edward and Margaret Langley Figiel. Chris was a production Manager at Clariant Plastics Co. Millington, Md. until his health forced his retirement.Chris was a Member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, Chapter 7, as a young man, he excelled in gymnastics and enjoyed racing boats. He loved to crab, fish and hunt and enjoyed boating. He was particularly fond of socializing with family and friends, and was an avid T.V. watcher. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Figiel, daughters, Catlin Figiel of Millington, MD. and Dawn Lofland of Thurmond, N.C.. Four Brothers, Michael, Stephen, Mark and Jeffery Figiel, . Four Grandsons, James Lofland, Kyle Lofland and Liam Lofland and Alex Reed. Many additional Aunts, Uncles and cousins as well as nieces and nephews survive him. In addition to his parents, Christopher was predeceased by a daughter Cassandra Figiel. Friends and family are invited to a time of Sharing and Remembering on Tuesday Evening, November 29, 2016 at the Fellows Family Funeral Home 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, Md. from 6 to 8pm.
