Walter Rudolph Black of Pondtown, Md. died Friday July 22, 2016 in the Christiana Medical Center, Christiana, De. He was 68 yrs. old. Mr. Black was born in Fairlee, MD. the son of the late Harrison and Emma Miller Black, Mr. Black work as an assemblyman for the Chrysler Corp. in Newark, DE. until the plant closed several years ago. At a time in his life, Mr. Black enjoyed participating in the Father’s day Club; he enjoyed listening to oldies music and watching good old cowboy movies on T.V. For many years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Black is surived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy E. Black, 1- daughter, Patricia “Trish” Wilson of Dover, DE. 4- Sisters, Shirley Sewell of Chestertown, MD., Audrey Downes of Pondtown, MD., Joyce Hopkins of Quaker Neck, MD., and Elinore Waits of Fairlee, MD. and 1- brother Harrison Black of Chestertown, MD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July30th. 2016 at 11am in the Mt. Pleasant Church, Fairlee, MD where friends and family may call after 10am. Friends and family may also call at the church Friday evening from 6-8pm. Interment will follow the services in the adjoining churchyard cemetery at Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Frances “Frannie” R. Wooten
Frances “Frannie” R. Wooten of Stevensville, MD died on July 27, 2016 at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was 65. Born in Sandy Springs, MD on March 4, 1951, she was the daughter of Francis Hyde and the late Marjorie McLane Hyde. She graduated from Annapolis High School in the class of 1969 and, on December 20, 1969, she married Charles M. Wooten of Annapolis, MD. During her career, Frannie worked with the Anne Arundel County Board of Education, where she started as a file clerk and rose through the ranks. She later moved to the Anne Arundel County Government and worked as an Office Automation Specialist, a career from which she retired in 2002. Frannie is survived by her loving husband, Charles Wooten; her father, Francis “Frank” Hyde of Annapolis, MD; a sister, Marjorie Thurlow of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and her brothers, Frank McLane Hyde of Edgewater, MD and James Anthony Hyde of Annapolis, MD. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 2 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD, where friends and family may visit on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Annapolis, MD.

Easton: Katherine A. Emerson passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Talbot Hospice. She was 95. She was born on October 16, 1920 in Easton, MD to the late James and Katherine Bildstein Emerson. Katherine was predeceased by her brothers; James Emerson, Francis Emerson and Joseph Emerson and her sister, Mary Warner. She is survived by nine nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Old Spring Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10:30am.

Mr. Maurice “Marty” Randolph O,Connor
Maurice (Marty) Randolph O’Connor, 78 of Chester, MD. , passed away peacefully at his home on August 1, 2016. Born at home in Washington DC on May 24th 1938, Marty was the son of the late Robert Milton O’Connor and Alice Mae O’Connor. Marty is preceded in death by his three brothers, Robert M. O’Connor, Gerald F. O’Connor and Charles F. O’Connor and a sister, Shirley Michael Also daughter in law, Theresa Kay O’Connor and sister in law, Donna Merie Diorio. Marty was married in 1957 to Patricia Holly and had four beautiful children. He spent fourteen years living in the Waldorf, Maryland area before moving to Annapolis for three years. Marty was married in 1983 to Doreen Heine and had two beautiful children. He spent 32 years living on Kent Island in Chester, Md. Marty spent his first 17 years being raised in Southeast Washington DC. He went to Holy Comforter Elementary, Eastern Jr. High, Anacostia High School and Washington and Lee High Schools. Marty Lived across the street from the Boys Club of Washington DC, Eastern Branch where he enjoyed sports such as football, swimming and boxing both silver and golden gloves. Marty worked for the department of the Navy in Arlington Va., Lockheed Missiles in Sunnyvale, California and the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington DC before retiring to go into business for himself, he subsequently entered retail sales, working for Hahn Shoes and later, Nordstrom in Annapolis until 2008. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his younger days. He was an avid Redskin Fan and a season ticket holder since 1989. He enjoyed movies, plays, travel, photography and all kinds of music. Marty is survived by his loving wife of thirty three years, and six children, Jeffery R, O’Connor, Daniel M. O’Connor, Karen R. Bernstein, Sean T. O’ Connor, Morgan L. O’Connor, Christopher R. O’Connor and Stepson, George(Trey) Heine III, sister, Kathy Kirkley, and son in law, Robert, Berny Bernstein. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jeremy Bernstein, Natalie Bernstein, Brittany Bernstein and Tyler Bernstein, Lauren O’Connor, Lexi O’Connor, Amber O’Connor, Ashley O’Connor, great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews, in laws and friends. Family and friends will be received from 10-11am on Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church where a memorial mass will start at 11am. Mrs. Enid A. Stackus
Easton: Mrs. Enid Hughes Stackus of Easton, MD died on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at her home. She was 94. Enid was born on March 25, 1922 in London, England to the late John H. Hughes and Jean Pritchard Hughes. She and her family moved from England to Minnesota when she was very young. While in school, they moved to Idlewild, MD, where she graduated from Towson High School, class of 1939. On May 24, 1942, she married Walter L. Stackus in Rockville, MD, after meeting him at the Boca Raton Club in Florida years prior, and they made their home in Lutherville, MD. In 1960, Mrs. Stackus and her husband purchased Packard Fence Company where they worked side by side. During the winter months, she and her husband would travel to Florida. In 1989, her husband of 47 years predeceased her. In 2004 she moved to Easton to live near her daughter Laurie. Mrs. Stackus was an accomplished needleworker and opera music soothed her soul. She had an enormous sweet tooth, liked to travel and was always up for an adventure. She was a generous, quick to laugh, elegant and open hearted person who will be greatly missed by her loved ones. Mrs. Stackus is survived by four children; Delphine Krebs of Del Ray Beach, FL, Laurie Roysdon of Easton, MD, John Stackus of Cockeysville, MD and Betty Jean Brian of Cockeysville, MD, eight grandchildren, John Krebs, Ryan Roysdon, Emily Roysdon, Jennifer Brian, John Delauder, Heather Stackus, William Stackus and Katie Swift, and one great grand-child Stephen Swift. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Betty Muller and Jean Muller of Bidwell, OH. Mrs. Stackus leaves behind old and loyal friends in Baltimore, Florida and Easton. In her later years Enid was surrounded by the love and care of Midge Menzies, Lawen Mohtadi, Donna Shortall and Rose Ann Phillips. Enid Stackus passed away surrounded by love, listening to the great arias of Giuseppe Verdi.

Mr. Philip Earl Blevins Sr.
Philip E. Blevins, Sr. of Royal Oak, MD, comfortably passed on August 8, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was 81. Phil is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Blevins and his four children Christine Ann, Philip Jr. and his wife, Danielle Burness, Lynn Martin and her husband Larney and Sandy Blevins. Phil had six grandchildren Lauren, Jacquelyn and Michele Martin, Philip,III and Brooke Blevins and Elizabeth Castro and his first great grandson Sebastian Patrick Madden. Phil was an avid hunter and loved traveling to hunt game, he and his wife also shared a love for Morgan horses at Shipyard Point Farm in Royal Oak, MD. Phil was a U.S. Marine, which shaped his life significantly, a little league coach and he showed championship Morgan horses and collie dogs. He was a great family man who loved to give to his family and many people he touched and will be deeply missed. McDaniel: Betty Jane Stinchcomb of McDaniel, crossed over into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 12, 2016. She was 87. Betty was born, the youngest of 10, on July 14, 1929, to the late George and Ida Virginia Shipley Wellham, in Linthicum, MD. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School. After high school, Betty worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, later to marry Winfield H. Stinchcomb from Anne Arundel County on October 22, 1949 in Linthicum, MD. The couple moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1952, where Winfield Stinchcomb became a prominent farmer. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, an Elks member, and a member of Miles River Yacht Club. Betty lived the majority of her life in McDaniel, MD. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and family, gardening and caring for her home of many years. She is survived by her daughters, Jane Maloney and husband, Michael, and Jeanine Meredith and husband Clifford; granddaughter Courtney Genovese and husband Marco Crigna, and great-grandson, Oliver Coleman Genovese; as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband Winfield Stinchcomb; son, Oliver Stinchcomb; sisters: Katherine Peach, Ann Land, Helen Calendar, Elva Heckner, Margaret Baker, Cornelia Wilkins, Ida Wellham, and Amy Hubbard and one brother, George Wellham III. Services for Betty will be held on, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11am at Grace Lutheran Church in Easton, MD. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery, in Oxford, MD. Mrs. M. Elizabeth Barton
M. Elizabeth Barton, of Tilghman, MD, died on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the Talbot Hospice House. She was 95. Born in Queen Anne’s County on November 19, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William Andrew McClyment, Sr. and Esther Carrie Capel McClyment. After graduating from Centreville High School in 1938, she worked in the Centreville Elementary School Cafeteria until her marriage on June 10, 1942 to James Dobson Harrison, Jr. They made their home in Tilghman, where Mr. Harrison died on September 15, 1966. She worked at the Tilghman Packing Company from 1959 until 1975, and then did private duty as a sitter/companion until 1983. On April 2, 1976, she married Harry T. Barton, Jr., who died on June 10, 1985. A faithful member of the Tilghman United Methodist Church in Tilghman, where she had served as the financial secretary, Sunday School teacher, choir member, member and past-president of the United Methodist Women and on many other committees, she was also the recorder for the Tilghman Memorial Cemetery in Tilghman. Other memberships included the Tilghman Senior Citizens Group and the Christian Women’s Association of Easton. Mrs. Barton is survived by two sons, James T. Harrison and Edward D. Harrison, both of Tilghman; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings: William A. McClyment, Jr., Robert W. McClyment, George E. McClyment, Frances E. Harrison, and J. Henry McClyment. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Tilghman United Methodist Church in Tilghman, MD, where friends and family are invited to visit beginning at 10:30 am. Mrs. Evelyn Louise Westfall
Evelyn Louise Cropp Westfall, 90, of Ocean City, MD, went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2016. She has resided in Easton, MD over the past year, due to failing health, spending her final days at the Talbot Hospice House. Evelyn was born to the late Herman and Blanche Cropp, February 1, 1926, in Richmond, VA. She married Henry Bryan Westfall on July 20, 1946. They were members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ocean City, MD. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was employed by C&O Railroad in Richmond, VA; the US Government Printing Office and Greater Southeastern Community Hospital, both in Washington, D.C.; and by August Electric Co. in Suitland, MD. Additionally, she sold license tags for the State of Maryland for several years. Her great passion was volunteering. She was a Red Cross Volunteer during WWII in Richmond, VA. Evelyn and Henry relocated to Ocean City, MD after retirement, where Evelyn volunteered for several years at PRMC in Salisbury, MD, and also at AGH in Berlin, MD. Evelyn was pre-deceased by her husband, Henry Bryan Westfall. She recently lost her sister, Jeanne Borden of Waldorf, MD. Evelyn leaves behind half-sister, Anne Bucker of Richmond, VA; son, Bryan Westfall of Severna Park, MD; daughter, Janet Barnes of Wellford, SC; daughter, Debra Lantz of La Plata, MD; grandsons, Ray Westfall and Jeremy Barnes; granddaughters, Jennifer Westfall, Barbara Taron, Melissa Svehla, Stephanie Adkins, and Jenna Snyder; great grandsons, Jordan Westfall, Brandon Westfall, Matthew Svehla, Tyler Svehla, and Emmet Snyder; and great granddaughters, Kyrie Drake, Abigail Taron, Isabelle Taron, Kayley Adkins, and Natalie Adkins. Mr. George S. Tulloch Jr.
EASTON: George S. Tulloch, Jr., of Easton, died at his home on Tuesday, August 23, 2016. He was 84. Born in Brooklyn, NY, August 18, 1932, he was the son of the late George S. and Dorothy Gooch Tulloch. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College in 1954, he served in the United States Marine Corp from 1954 until 1956. He then earned his LLB from the Law School of the University of Michigan in 1959. He retired in 1997 as the Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Graybar Electric Co., Inc. in St. Louis with whom he had been associated for 20 years. A resident of Easton since 1998, he had previously lived in Sea Cliff, NY for 16 years and, after that, in St. Louis, MO for 15 years. A member of the American Bar Association and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries, he was also a member of Christ Church, Easton, where he was a former Vestryperson. Mr. Tulloch is survived by his wife, the former Benson Woodroofe whom he married June 16, 1956 in Newton, MA; two sons, Michael Tulloch of Lithia, FL and Daniel Tulloch of Summit, NJ; a daughter, Lindsay Haines of Rising Sun, MD; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorial services will be held at Christ Church, Easton, on Wednesday September 28th at 2 PM. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Rector’s Discretionary Fund at Christ Church, 111 S. Harrison Street, Easton, MD 21601.
